U.S. Citizen Services

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Libreville provides the following services, among others, to American citizens: passport issuance and renewals, addition of pages to passports, issuance of Consular Reports of Birth Abroad to American citizens  born overseas, registration of American citizens, and notarials.  It is also responsible for the issuance of travel warnings, public announcements and other travel information for Gabon and Sao Tome & Principe. 

In the event of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen during non-working hours, call +241-07-38-01-71 in Gabon.  The Department of State's Office of Overseas Citizen Services can be reached from within the U.S. toll free at 888-407-4747. 

For non-emergency services, American citizens living in Gabon or Sao Tome & Principe are welcome in the Consular Section any time during operating hours.  However, due to workload, the best time to visit is from 8:30-11:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Alternatively, you can call the Consular Section at +241-76-20-03 or 04.

The U.S. Department of State issued a TRAVEL ALERT to Gabon in effect until SEPTEMBER 15, 2009.
