Diplomatic Note No. 21
Persons traveling to the US on official government business may not apply directly at the Embassy for a visa. All visa applications for official travel must go through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Embassy of the United States of America in Libreville presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Gabon and has the honor to inform the Ministry of a new schedule for accepting requests for diplomatic visas. Effective immediately, diplomatic/official passports together with completed application forms may be submitted to the Embassy by designate personnel under cover of a diplomatic note at the following times:
Tuesdays 0830-1000 am and Thursdays 0830-1000 am.
Visas will be available for pick-up the same day after 4:30 pm, or after 9:00 am the following day.
The Consular Section will continue to expedite visas for emergency diplomatic/official travel on condition that the passports and applications are deposited under cover of a diplomatic note a minimum of 24 hours before anticipated travel.
The Embassy of the United States of American in Libreville avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Gabon the assurance of its highest consideration.
