Book Launch: "Reptiles du Gabon"
On Monday, June 23, the American Ambassador, Eunice S. Reddick, hosted a book-launch at her residence for a work entitled, "Reptiles du Gabon."
The Smithsonian Institute, in collaboration with Shell Gabon, produced this book regarding reptiles found in Gabon. This book will doubtlessly provide useful information for ecotourists, doctors, researchers and nature-lovers. In this book, which includes nearly 300 pages of text, readers will find numerous illustrations of various species, an expose on the country's venimous snakes and other interesting details.
The book's publication is aimed at raising awareness of Gabon's biodiversity, which is an integral part of the world's patrimony.
Previously, the Smithsonian Institute helped to publish several books on Gabon's flora and fauna, including, The Edge of Africa and, Gamba : Gabon la Biodiversité d’une foret équatoriale africaine.
