Ambassador Hosts Awards Ceremony

June 20, 2008 - U.S. Ambassador Eunice Reddick hosted an awards ceremony at her residence on Friday, June 20 for members of the embassy locally-employed staff (LES). At the ceremony, the Ambassador paid tribute to the hard work and exceptional service of members of the LES. The Ambassador called each award recipient up to the podium from which she spoke, highlighting the outstanding work that each completed in roles ranging from administrative assistant to car dispatcher.

The award ceremony, which took place in the late afternoon at the Ambassador's sea-side residence, was catered by a local company. With jazz music serving as a musical accompaniment to the festivities, both the American and local members of the Embassy team enjoyed a relaxed, joyful atmosphere in which to recognize their colleagues' achievements.

The U.S. Embassy - Libreville regularly organizes such ceremonies in order to pay tribute to the stellar service of many of its staff members.
